Programs

Toddler: (18 mths to 3 years)

In the Toddler Community the essence of independence is stressed . At this age children are achieving control of their bodies, aquiring social awareness and refining language skills. The prepared environment encourages the child's natural tendency toward sensory explorations and practical life skills.

Primary: (3 to 6 years)

Each of our three primary classrooms is composed of a balanced mixed age group of 3 to 6 year olds. The principles underlying the learning process and conduct in the classrooms are: the use of the word work to dignify the child's activity; the freedom to choose one's work; the right to uninterrupted concentration; the absence of rewards and punishments; order in the environment; respect for materials, consideration for others; freedom of movement and communication; freedom to work with others or alone; and an emphasis on cooperation and mutual aid.

Elementary Program: (6 to 12 years)

The passage to the second level of education is the passage from the sensorial, material level to the Age of Reason.

This is the age of a profound sense of justice. The classroom becomes a microcosm of society where the new dimension of self is manifested in the social context of what is fair and what is moral; of one's responsibility and obligations to others; of individual actions; of individual rights; the exercise of choice; and the consequences of one's actions.
